New minimum industry standards for pruning

Arboriculture Australia has released MIS 308, the new industry guidance on tree pruning considerations, operations and techniques.

MIS 308 has been two years in the making and is the first MIS developed in partnership with the New Zealand Arboricultural Association. It includes current theory and best practice techniques in tree physiology, biomechanical structure, ecology, mycology and much more.

Some of the topics covered in this volume are: 

  • branch attachment and branch end-weight
  • wind loading
  • risk abatement and asset clearance
  • deadwood retention
  • tree health and structure
