National Certificate in Horticulture (Arboriculture) (Level 3)


This is an introductory certificate for people entering a career in the arboricultural sector of the horticulture industry. People who have completed this qualification will be able to demonstrate fundamental knowledge and skills relevant to arboriculture.

This course has prescribed content and contains NZQA Unit Standards in the following:
- Chainsaw safety and use
- Arboricultural climbing equipment
- Arboricultural tree climbing
- Tree planting and pruning
- Grounds-persons duties
- Plant identification
- Basic botany
- Basic soils, and
- First aid

This qualification includes and builds on the requirements for award of the Telford Foundation Certificate in Arboriculture (Level 2)
